What should I do if my legal name has changed or doesn't match my ID?

To gain entry on exam day, you must present a valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID. The first and last name on your ID must exactly match the name on file in your certification application and on your Prometric Admission Letter.

• Submitting a Name Change: If your legal name has changed, you must submit a name change request to the credentialing staff certification@ibfmc.org.
• 15-Day Completion Window: If you have an upcoming exam appointment, your name change request must be fully completed at least 15 business days before your scheduled testing window (see Exam Registration Deadline with Accommodations). Failure to complete this process in time may prevent you from testing and require deferral (fees apply) or lead to the forfeiture of your exam fees.
