How do I request reasonable testing accommodations?

The IBFMC™ is committed to ensuring a fair and equitable exam experience. If you require testing accommodations, you must indicate this need and provide evidence of your functional limitations during exam registration.

    • At Exam Registration: During exam registration, you will have an opportunity to indicate your need for an accommodation. You must provide a description of your functional limitation and the accommodation that you are requesting. Additionally, we ask that you provide your address to assist in identifying a testing location that can provide the requested accommodation.
    • After Exam Registration: Should your need for accommodation change after you register for your exam, you may request accommodation in writing to the credentialing team (certification@ibfmc.org) at least 15 business days prior to the start of the exam window (see Exam Registration Deadline with Accommodations). You must provide a description of your functional limitation and the accommodation that you are requesting. Additionally, we ask that you provide your address to assist in identifying a testing location that can provide the requested accommodation.
    • 15-Day Written Deadline: You must submit your request for accommodations in writing at least 15 business days before your scheduled testing window (see Exam Registration Deadline with Accommodations). Accommodation requests received fewer than 15 business days in advance are not guaranteed and may require you to defer your exam to a future window.
    • Supporting Evidence: You may be requested to provide official third-party documentation to substantiate the need for your requested accommodation(s).
    • Accommodation Availability: Not all accommodations are available at all Prometric Test Centers or in all countries. Some accommodations may require you to travel to a test center further from your home.
